Even in the oppressive summer heat in Dallas we do senior portrait sessions all summer long --and outdoor sessions have the added bonus of easy social distance. Here are some tips to manage the heat and get some great memories of your senior year
1. Shoot early! Nobody likes to get up early during vacation but it's worth it. We start our summer sessions at 8 or 8:30am and the great soft morning light does wonderful things for your skin. If you simply must shoot in the evening we will schedule you for 8pm, but be warned -- it is hard to look good when you're flushed and sweating.
2. Use a professional hair and makeup artist And we have a great one. Professional makeup holds up so much better outdoors and the pro makeup artists know how to make your skin and eyes look great for the camera. They won't over apply makeup, EVER. Unless it's prom night, you're going to look natural!
3. Manage your wardrobe options. Our most popular senior portrait session is the In & Out session, which allows for about 90 minutes in front of the camera split between the outdoors and the studio. With a little careful planning, we can include heavier items like a letter jacket or your favorite fall layered outfit without melting. Include 2-3 of your favorite outfits but think in layers. We can always add jackets second layers if the weather permits it.

Interested in choosing an unusual location for your portraits? Let's put our heads together and make a plan. We have had some great sessions in unlikely places like parking garages, stairwells, vacant buildings and fountains -- and we know what makes a great look. Call the studio or come by to look at samples with us, we're open almost everyday and work by appointment. 972-250-2415
